Your Quick Look At The Week Ahead
Welcome to this issue of The Austin Business Review, with a quick look at this week’s best upcoming business events (plus something fun for the weekend).
Use this email to plan your week, and I’ll see you Thursday for the full-length roundup – the last one before I head out on vacation.

PS. Last week, we introduced the “Questionable Decisions” section, basically an ad segment that helps support Austin Pets Alive. People loved it, and thanks in part to that donation, APA hit their fundraising goal, raising $50K+ in a day.
So we’re running it back. This week’s supporter is ABR reader and wealth advisor Doug Greenberg of Pinnacle Wealth Advisory.
He works with founders before they sell, helping them optimize everything from tax structure to legacy planning, and cash flow after exit. The time to start thinking about that stuff is before you have an LOI. So if you’re thinking of selling in the next five years, connect with him and say hey. He’s a hell of a skier too. Ask him about it when you bump into him at one of the events below…

One for the Weekend…
I’ve mentioned this before, but one of my favorite things about Austin is the fact that we have the Paramount Summer Series – a lineup of classic films that play over at the century-old theatre, sometimes with celebrity guests.
Apparently I’m at the age where the films of my youth are considered “classics,” because this week, they’ve got:
The hits keep coming next month too – Toy Story, The Goonies, Hook, and many more. God we’re old! So celebrate by sneaking out of the elder-millennial home your kids have undoubtedly stuck you in, and shuffling on down to the theatre for a barley wine and a moving picture.
“I help owners transition from business wealth to personal wealth… without chaos, confusion, or overpaying Uncle Sam. If that’s where you’re headed, let’s talk.” -Doug Greenberg, Wealth Advisor
Questionable Decisions
In which you are tempted by things you may not need (but should get anyways)… like a box of kittens
Okay, so maybe you love cats, but aren’t ready to commit to one forever. Well, that’s perfect. Because APA has about twenty kittens that need temporary foster homes.
The munchkins in question are under observation after being exposed to panleukopenia. So, probably best for a house that doesn’t have other cats. It can’t be transferred to dogs though, so if your K9 is looking for a few tiny pals to retrieve tennis balls from under the couch, take a look.
Unclear whether they’ll give you all twenty at once. But you’re an entrepreneur, and you are nothing if not persuasive. To make your case, check out their neonatal kitten foster program.
That’s all for this issue! Keep an eye out Thursday for the full-length edition, including more upcoming events, insights, and opportunities to grow your business or personal sphere here in Austin.
Email me here if you want to share any feedback, or let me know about an event you’re hosting.
Until next week,
